Chinese Faculty

The size of the program allows students to receive a considerable amount of personal attention from the instructor.

Studying Chinese

Truman offers a strong introduction to Chinese, with courses at both the elementary and intermediate levels -- as well as a course in Chinese culture --all taught by a native speaker.

Related Courses: Chinese Across the Curriculum

Pursue your interest in Chinese by taking related courses in art, mythology, literature, history, geography, politics, and culture.

Asian Studies Minor

Read about this interdisciplinary minor sponsored by faculty members across campus.

Opportunities Abroad

Students may participate in our Study-Abroad programs at Nanjing University, Shanghai University, or the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Truman students may also apply for the Truman-China English Teaching Partnership in rural Guangdong Province. Students teach listening and speaking in the Wu Hua County Public Schools and receive 12 hours of internship credit.
