German at Truman State University

Studying German

German courses are offered at elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels.  A German culture course, taught in English, is also offered. Beyond the advanced level, students may take courses in literature, civilization, translation, economics, and politics.

Student Organizations

Become involved in the German Club. Act in a German play. Enjoy your evening meal at the German Table. Join faculty and students for coffee and conversation. Bring your talents to the German Cultural Evening. Participate in our annual German Immersion Weekend.

German Immersion Weekend

The German Immersion Weekend offers students a chance to play, eat, work and live in German; participants receive one hour's credit and twenty-four hours' fun!

German Club

The German club consists of weekly conversation tables, a service learning project (with the Amish) and other cultural activities.
